ESOP Termination Lawyers

There are times when it is best for the employees and the company to terminate an ESOP plan. A company may have an offer to buy out the company that the trustee cannot refuse to accept. In some cases, the beneficiaries, namely the employee owners, gain a windfall that is hard to resist. In a few cases, long time plant employees can double or triple their values well beyond what the company can offer. Or the company is struggling with declining sales and profits, and there is a fear of losing the whole company and everyone's job. These are but some of the many conditions that sometimes occur, that test the company's ability to maintain the ESOP. An ESOP termination event is not a simple or easy process because there are compliance issues that need to be followed when an ESOP plan is terminated. Our ESOP Termination advisors listed here have the experience and competency to help an ESOP terminate their plan and avoid the problems that commonly surface when inexperienced people terminate the ESOP.
