Education & Expertise
Matt earned his B.A. in Finance from Iowa State University. He earned his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from the CFA Institute, and his Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) designation from the American Society of Appraisers.
A shareholder of BCC Advisers, Matt specializes in providing valuation and consulting for ESOP companies and those exploring employee ownership, including valuations for both plan initiation and those required annually for compliance purposes. Matt and the firm have extensive experience working with ESOP companies in a variety of industries, valuing early stage and mature, leveraged and unleveraged, as well as controlling and non-controlling ESOPs.
Professional affiliations include memberships with the National Center for Employee Ownership, The ESOP Association, the American Society of Appraisers (former president of the Iowa-Nebraska Chapter), and the CFA Society of Iowa. Matt has been asked to speak at ESOP conferences and other events on business valuation, succession planning, and ESOP-related topics.
