Wendy also works with employers to resolve their questions about qualified retirement plans and nonqualified deferred compensation plans, including questions regarding plan design, operation, compliance and fiduciary issues faced by plan administrators and fiduciaries.
Wendy earned her J.D. from the University of California at Davis School of Law and her LL.M. (Master of Laws) in Taxation at the University of Alabama where she received the distinction of "Best Paper" in Deferred Compensation. Wendy's practice includes all areas of employee benefits law that impact private sector, governmental and tax-exempt employers. She has extensive transaction experience and focuses on assisting business owners and their advisors with employee benefits issues that arise during mergers and acquisitions. Wendy reviews and negotiates ERISA representations and warranties in purchase agreements, advises on plan terminations and mergers, guides plans through the termination and distribution process, and advises employers on maintaining continuity of health coverage for employees during transition.
